The Taiga

North of the High Rhaenas and merging into the Forest of Arturiato the East of them, and roughly in the same latitude as the Kingdom Icefell is the Tiaga, a long expanse of pine and spruce, just to the south of the point where it is too cold for trees to grow. So far north that the forest must go several weeks without sunlight in winter (and several without night in the summer)this is a cold, sparcely populated region. One might say it is less dangerous than other areas, but the cold makes up for the lack of enemies, and “sparcely populated” doesn’t mean, “unoccupied”. Dragons and other beasts have been reported in the hills, and wandering peoples of the north pass through it regularly, persuing the caribou. Reports are confused due to the area’s remoteness, but it is said that elves and gnomes occupy halls under the forest floor.
